Here is a profile I've used recently. It sort of tells my story. Dr. Allan Bellman is a Professor of Mathematics Education in the School of Education at the University of Mississippi working with both pre-service and in-service secondary mathematics teachers. His special interest is the use of continuous and timely classroom level assessment and how it can inform a teacher's use of collaborative groups, differentiation, inquiry, and yes direct instruction. Dr. Bellman has been heavily involved with the use of technology in secondary mathematics and has collaborated on over 50 textbooks, workbooks and technology activities over the years for Pearson, Texas Instruments, and others, although for the last 5 years he has stayed pretty focused on his work on classroom-level assessment at Ole Miss hoping to bring that side of his career into focus.

He has a long-term interest and expertise in mathematical modeling and its ability to transform student thinking about the world they live in and the secondary classroom. Dr. Bellman has been in education well over 50 years both as a high school teacher and at the university level.

To be honest I'm way behind the game with social media but am making this spring a time I want to get started. After all I've only been in this game 50+years...its about time to start:>)But if you want to talk about my present focus find me and we can talk classroom-level assessment, purposely formed dynamic collaborative groups, and differentiation. If you missed my session I'd love to update you on what I said...I think it is very important. Right now I am getting great results building student confidence, changing the social status of all, and generally leveling the field via well-formed groups. Important results. I can talk for hours. If you miss me her, contact me or I'll be at the New Orleans NCTM in Feb.
