Matt Larson is the K-12 mathematics curriculum specialist for the Lincoln Public Schools in Lincoln, NE. He is a member of the IES What Works Clearing House panel on Improving Algebra Skills. He is the co-author of numerous professional books, including: Administrator’s Guide: Interpreting the Common Core State Standards to Improve Mathematics Education, the Common Core Mathematics in a PLC at WorkTM series, and Beyond the Common Core: A Handbook for Mathematics in a PLC at Work Series. He is a member of the writing team for the recent NCTM publication: Principles to Actions: Ensuring Mathematical Success for All. And he is a co-author of K-12 mathematics programs published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Larson has taught mathematics at the secondary and college levels and has held an appointment as an honorary visiting associate professor at Teachers College, Columbia University. He has served on the Board of Directors for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and as past chair of NCTM’s Research Committee. This fall he is a candidate for president-elect of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
