Taik Kim

Associate Professor
Dr. Taik Kim, a long-time, impassioned math educator and researcher, is an associate professor of Mathematics Education and Mathematics. He envisions that students’ achievement in mathematics will be completely different if students are exposed to the innovative teaching based on the best practices he uses. Recently, he received the PINO Endowment for Preparation and Development of High-quality Teachers: Learn from Finland and traveled to Finland for his research. In February 2016, he earned the Faculty research grant and traveled to Singapore to present his research, Improving Student Learning in Mathematics by Using New and Existing STEM Assets. In 2015, he received a STEM grant from Los Alamos National Lab Foundations for STEM learning in informal settings. In 2014, he was selected as a Fellow of the Transatlantic Outreach Program at Goethe-Institut to participate in the STEM Tour in Germany. From 2012 to 2013, he contributed to developing the New Mexico educator evaluation system as an advisory committee for New Mexico Public Education Department (NM PED).
